Before rushing to Valerie’s school, Ben took a creative approach. He splashed a bit of water around the crotch of his pants. In an interview with Huffington Post, Ben shared his insight: the key to comforting his daughter was to bring a smile to her face.
“Honestly, I knew she was mortified, but I thought if I could make her laugh everything would be fine.”
It was a simple yet ingenious plan that was sure to work!
Upon entering the principal’s office, Ben discreetly requested Valerie’s backpack. He whispered to his daughter, explaining that he needed to conceal something. Initially puzzled, Valerie couldn’t fathom why her dad needed to hide anything.
Then, she glanced down and noticed his pants.
Ben recounted to Huffington Post that the moment Valerie saw his pants, a sense of reassurance washed over her. With newfound confidence, she stood up and walked out of the school alongside her father.
“She was completely relieved. Once she saw my pants, I received that look from her, the one where I knew everything was okay. Every dad knows that look. And together, we casually left the school as if nothing had occurred.”
